About
Michael successfully defended his dissertation on 13 November 2008 at Indiana University. His major is Education Policy – International Comparative Education with a minor in Intercultural Communications. In 2006-7, he was awarded a one-year Fulbright-Hays Overseas Dissertation Research scholarship to study home-schooling & alternative education as a social movement in Thailand. Part of his research has been published in a Nov. 2008 Routeledge textbook: Power, Voice, and the Public Good: Schooling and Education in Global Societies.
He has lived and worked in the Southeast Asia region for more than 13 years. Michael is now International Lecturer and Chairman of the PhD program in the Contemplative Education Center at Mahidol University-Salaya, Thailand.
